In addition to marriages, I also conduct other beautiful ceremonies including naming ceremonies, renewal of vows, commitment ceremonies, anniversaries and other special occasions.
Naming Ceremonies:
The Naming Ceremony is conducted not only to welcome babies into the family and wider community, but it can also be an opportunity to provide a 'right of passage' to children, adolescents and even adults. This ceremony can be as simple or as inclusive as you choose. I can offer you some direction regarding order of ceremony, or you may have your own ideas and inspiration for how you would like the ceremony to proceed. You may wish to include significant family members or friends as 'Godparents', 'guidance parents' or 'mentors'. The Naming Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to include beautiful readings, poems, letters, blessings, or special words to express hopes and values and add to the meaning of the day.
A Certificate is available to commemorate this special day and it is also popular for parents or those involved in the ceremony to offer gifts and tokens, such as candles and items of memorabilia. I can provide you with a variety of resources and list of rituals for you to review in order to develop the perfect Naming Ceremony for your loved-one.
Renewal of Vows:
It is becoming increasingly popular for couples to renew their wedding vows and celebrate their years of marriage and ongoing future together. As couples experience life events and anniversaries together, they may wish to take the opportunity to share with their families and friends the milestones they have reached and joys they have experienced. Many couples with children enjoy the opportunity to have them participate in the ceremony. I can offer a selection of readings and poems that can be included in the ceremony, or you may wish to include your own special memories or words. Unlike a wedding ceremony, there is no legal components which allows greater scope for you to individualise your ceremony and include vows and rituals of your choice in an order that is preferable to you.
Commitment Ceremonies:
A Commitment Ceremony can represent a same sex or a opposite sex commitment. There is no legal component to this ceremony. It offers a couple an opportunity to express their love and union, with a unique and meaningful ceremony that they can share with those who mean the most and wish them well in their future together. Your Commitment Ceremony can follow a more traditional format with vows and an order of ceremony similar to a wedding, or you can choose to incorporate your own inclusions and rituals to make the day unique and special to you.
Anniversaries and Special Occasions:
From significant wedding anniversaries and birthday celebrations to any event of importance in your life that you wish to share with those most close, I am able to tailor a ceremony with you that will make your occasion special, unique and memorable.
